Domaine Pouderous 50cl, Maury 2018 Domaine Pouderoux
Brand: Domaine Pouderous
Vin Doux Naturel Lying back from the Roussillon plain, the Maury terroir benefits from a geology (schist and calcareous clay) which allows it to create robust wines of exceptional taste. The Maury wines from Domaine Pouderoux come from vines situated in the heart of the commune of Maury. Paul Pouderoux, the grandfather, was born in 1909. He was a pioneer of Maury and a tireless defender of the legislation for A.O.C. Robert, his grandson and present owner of the Domain, is carrying on the tradition with a growing program close to nature, respecting the soil, biological diversity and the ecosystem. Maury are powerful wines which lend themselves to a long oxidative maturing process. But when they are young, with their black and red fruit balance, the delicacy of the tannins and the aromatic fragance, they are a real revelation. One grape variety is identified with Maury: the Grenache noir, capricious, low yield, it guarantees the quality of Maury and it represents 100% of Pouderoux's vines. The grapes are selected and sorted in the vineyard. They are picked by hand, de-stemmed, fermented (with skins), macerating for 30 days. Pressing is with a pneumatic press - in manual mode. The juices are separated and then blended. The unfiltered and non-clarified wine is bottled in June following the harvest and is allowed to mature slowly. And the result? Beautiful garnet red colour, aromas of red fruits, cherry, black-berry. Generous and well balanced Full-bodied and well-structured: good tannins combined with a red fruit taste.
